Key points

  • For structured or unstructured learning that is required for your role you can take paid study leave if it takes place during your normal working hours.
  • Structured or unstructured learning that takes place out of hours is covered by time off in lieu (TOIL).
  • If you are undertaking learning and development that is not required for your role you can, with your line manager’s approval, take unpaid leave or use your annual leave entitlement.
