Safeguarding code of conduct

Sets out what behaviour we expect of employees and volunteers and how you can raise concerns.

Is this for you?

As a Barnardo's employee, the safeguarding code of conduct forms part of your contract of employment.

As a volunteer, agency or other worker, it forms part of the agreement for your role.

Key points

  • The code of conduct supports employees and volunteers by making clear what conduct and behaviour we expect.
  • It helps you to raise concerns without fear of recrimination.
  • It reduces the risk of misplaced or malicious allegations being made against anyone.
  • You will need to read the code and then sign it.
