How can I use systems thinking in my own work to create systems change?

You will find below some steps you can think about and follow if you want to use systems thinking to explore a problem. There are also a number of tools in the next section which complement these steps.

You can think of the approach in two main parts - First you seek to understand the problem and the system in which it exists, then, and only then, do you start to think about how the system can be improved to tackle that problem.

Remember, systems thinking is all about viewing the system as a whole and understanding how the different parts affect each other.
