Health and safety
All employees are required to complete the health and safety induction course within two weeks of their start date. All volunteers are required to complete the same course in their first month with us.
A number of other role-related modules are available:
- annual first-aid refresher
- asbestos awareness
- basic food safety
- care of medicines basic awareness
- computer user safety
- control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) and legionella awareness
- COVID-19
- electrical safety
- fire safety awareness and assessment course
- home and road safety
- moving objects safety
- outside play areas
- personal safety (violence at work)
- reporting of injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences (RIDDOR)
- risk assessments
- toy safety
- working at height (ladders and stepladders)
Ask your line manager for guidance about which courses are appropriate to your role. Your safety adviser will be able to answer any queries you have.
