There are two different health and safety training courses. You must complete one or the other depending on where you work. One course is for people working in shops and the other is for everyone else. 

Retail health and safety 

All new starters are required to complete the retail health and safety induction video course.

There are seven other retail health and safety b-Learning courses for employees working in shops.

These are:

  • retail risk assessment
  • retail control of substances hazardous to Health (COSHH)
  • retail property and health and safety file
  • retail accidents and reporting of incidents diseases and dangerous occurrences regulations (RIDDOR)
  • retail manual handling
  • retail fire safety
  • retail DSE health and safety

Ask your line manager for guidance about which courses are appropriate to your role. Your safety adviser will be able to answer any queries you have.

Corporate health and safety 

All employees (not working in shops) are required to complete the health and safety induction course within two weeks of their start date. All volunteers (unless they are working in a shop) are required to complete the same course in their first month with us.
