An introduction to Company Portal to install applications without contacting FirstPoint

What is the Company Portal?

The Company Portal App lets you install additional Barnardo’s applications and securely access our data and systems from your Barnardo’s device. The Company Portal is available on Windows, Android, iOS, and Mac devices.

You can use the Company Portal App to install applications without having to contact FirstPoint. If an app is available in your Company Portal, you can go ahead and install it yourself.

Note: if you cannot find the app you want in Company Portal, you will need to go through FirstPoint and request it. This is because there may be a charge for that app.

How do I open the Company Portal?

Open the Company Portal by selecting the App shortcut on your Start Menu, or for other platforms, the App launcher.

How do I install an application?

  • Find your required application either from the homepage, or by searching or navigating through the App and Categories in the left pane.
    Please note that not all applications are available on all platforms.

  • Click install

How do I check the progress of my application installs?

Select ‘Downloads & updates’ in the left pane. Downloads and installations that are in progress appear in the top section. Installed applications appear in the bottom section.

How do I check my device is up to date?

Select Settings in the left pane and then click Sync.

The sync will usually complete within 5 minutes.

You can check the state of all your devices by clicking on Devices in the left pane. For each device in the right pane, you can check if it is secure and can access Barnardo’s applications, data, and systems.
