What is a health cash plan?
A health cash plan allows you to claim back cash for routine and emergency healthcare (up to an annual limit). This can include:
- dental check-ups and treatment
- eyesight tests
- new glasses or contact lenses
- physiotherapy and chiropody
You don’t need to be ill to benefit from a health cash plan, but if you have an unexpected illness, you can claim towards the cost of a consultation, or towards the expenses associated with a stay in hospital.
It doesn’t matter whether you get your healthcare through the NHS or privately, a health cash plan can still help you.
What's available?
There are two schemes currently on offer for Barnardo’s staff: Birmingham Hospital Saturday Fund (BHSF) and Medicash. You can choose the scheme that better fits your personal circumstances.
