If you’re a Barnardo’s employee, you can apply for an interest-free loan covering the cost of a Zone 1-4 season ticket to travel to work on the London Underground, DLR and Overground.

Repaying the loan
You repay it in three equal instalments for quarterly tickets and in 12 payments for annual season tickets.
How to apply
Apply in writing to your line manager’s manager (email is fine) giving details of:
- the cost of the ticket to be purchased
- the date by which the loan is needed
Once the loan has been authorised, the request will be passed to the payroll manager.
The payroll manager will send you a loan agreement which you need to sign and return. After this, the payroll manager will arrange for a payment to be made into your bank account.
You can then get your ticket and show this to your line manager as proof of purchase.
What happens if I leave Barnardo’s before the loan is repaid?
If you leave Barnardo’s before the loan is repaid, the outstanding balance will be deducted from your final salary.
