Our Cost of Living Crisis Response

How to access the urgent cost of living support available to children, young people and families we support.

Important Update

Our Cost of Living Crisis Fund is currently paused. Children's Services Managers will be contacted directly with any update.

We have taken steps to make urgent cost of living support available to assist people across the UK who can no longer afford the basics and may need additional funds as a result of the pressures they are facing.

The Cost of Living Crisis Fund is available for a family in which one or more members are currently being supported by a Barnardo's service and can be used to support them with:

  • Food vouchers
  • Clothing such as winter coats, school uniforms and shoes
  • Miscellaneous - for example, essential homewares and the purchase or repair of white goods (fridges, freezers, ovens etc.) including the cost of safe installation by a registered supplier.

We encourage colleagues to think holistically about the support that could be provided. Further needs can be met with agreement from your line manager and/or budget holder.

Application form and how to apply

In most cases, the online application form should take less than two minutes to complete. Follow these three steps:

  1. Select the service you work for
  2. Provide required information on the online form
  3. Await application approval and allocation of funding
