Recognising, rewarding and remunerating young people who work with us

This guidance will help you to consider some of the complexities around recognising, rewarding and remunerating children and young people

Children and young people can provide hugely valuable contributions to the way we work – as we outline in our Voice and Influence Strategy.

It is essential that services and teams find a way to recognise and reward this contribution (as appropriate) and ensure that children and young people who are actively engaged in voice and influence activity feel that their commitment is valued.

Please see the Renumeration, Rewards and Recognition Guidance below. It will help you to consider some of the complexities around recognising, rewarding and remunerating children and young people for their contributions, and offer some suggested approaches on how you can do it in your work.

Questions, queries, or comments

This guidance has been put together by the UK Voice and Influence Team, in consultation with colleagues in our children’s services and a sample of corporate departments (predominantly those who regularly facilitate opportunities).
