Enterprise and personal workspaces

How to use the two different workspaces on Content Server.

Enterprise workspace

When you first open Content Server you start in the Enterprise workspace.

This is where all of the shared team and workgroup folders are located. Once you have located your team folder, add it to your favourites so you can get back to it easily.

Your team folder is the area where you will store most of your work-related documents. You and other members of your team can add and edit documents and folders in this area.

Personal workspace

The other workspace you have access to is your personal workspace. You can access this by selecting My Workspace from the Personal menu.

Your personal workspace looks and behaves like any other folder in Content Server. You can add folder and documents in the same way as in your team folder.

The main difference is that nobody else has access to this workspace. Only you can read or edit the documents you put in here.

Most of your work-related documents should go into your team folder, as your colleagues will need access to them.

Your personal workspace is for items that only you will ever need to use. For example, it's a good place to create a folder to store emails that you want to keep for longer than 90 days.

When you want to return to the Enterprise workspace, select Workspace from the Enterprise menu.

Permissions in your personal workspace

Sometimes you may need to save confidential information into your personal workspace. This may mean that you have to give people permissions to see one or more documents or a folder  (but not complete access to your own personal workspace).

Download the guidance below on how to grant access to documents in your personal workspace.
