Introduction to the online portal for contacting Barnardo's IS service desk.

FirstPoint is the online portal for contacting the IS service desk.

Through FirstPoint you can:

  • log support tickets for IT issues
  • request IT equipment, services and new logins
  • check on the status of your tickets and requests
  • see news about IT systems and incidents

Barnardo's employees and volunteers can get into FirstPoint from the Inside Barnardo's homepage or from this link to FirstPoint.

Note: before you use FirstPoint to request new software, please check that it is not available in the Company Portal as you may be able to install it yourself.

The My Options menu to the left allows you to start new transactions.

  • use the IS option for any other IT-related issues
  • use the My IT Store option to order IT hardware, software and new IT logins

The homepage panels

The panels on the home page display information about current and ongoing IT issues and requests.

  • My IT World shows a count of your incidents, requests etc. Clicking on an item will display more details.
  • Latest News: A scrolling list of IT news from the service desk and includes some self-help fixes for common issues.
  • Major Incidents: Any ongoing major IT incidents are listed here. You can add yourself to any that affect you.
  • Open Incidents: Any IT incidents that you have reported are listed here until they are resolved.

The panels further down the screen show details of your open requests, IT kit, etc.
